Catalyst – Anya Price, A12

"Rapid motion through space elates one," wrote James Joyce. Anya Price, A12, hasn’t slowed down in four years at Tufts. The tri-captain of the women’s cross country team paced the squad to the nationals this past fall. As a Summer Scholar she researched the social behavior of hermit crabs at the New England Aquarium. She will attend the Cummings School next fall. The Tufts Mountain Club member who led two Wilderness Orientation trips says her passions are running and being outdoors. “A defining moment that started my whole trajectory was my first day at Tufts Wilderness Orientation,” she says. “The guides in crazy clothes – yelling ‘Freshmen!’ – introduced me to the whole sphere of being fun and wild and friendly.”
