Financial aid initiative matches gifts and closes affordability gap

As part of a university-wide drive to increase financial aid, Tufts is offering to match any newly established endowed scholarship of $100,000 or more, doubling the size of the fund the donor has endowed.

This effort, known as the Financial Aid Initiative (FAI), raised more than $35 million over its first two years. It is continuing through June 2016, with the goal of raising an additional $50 million in new gifts across the university.

"When the initiative concludes, our generous supporters will have greatly expanded endowed scholarships at Tufts,” says Tufts President Anthony Monaco. “This will be a landmark achievement that will benefit Tufts students for generations."

Demand for financial aid remains pressing, and scholarship dollars are critical to closing the affordability gap. Endowed scholarships open a world of opportunity.

Take it from these Tufts alumni, who know the value of such a gift.
