Neubauers pledge to match gifts to Hillel, up to $750k

University Trustee Joe Neubauer, E63, J90P, and his wife, Jeanette, J90P, have issued a $750,000 challenge grant on behalf of Tufts Hillel: They will match, dollar for dollar, up to three-quarters of a million, every new gift contributed after July 1, 2007, to the Tufts Hillel Program Endowment campaign.

Once the challenge grant is fulfilled, Tufts Hillel will have achieved a $6.4-million program endowment. The fund will directly support Hillel's Shabbat and holiday celebrations, cultural events, Jewish learning, interfaith dialogue and social-justice programs that engage Jewish students and the entire community at Tufts.

"Jeanette and I are proud to support and strengthen Tufts Hillel and its exceptional work," Joe Neubauer said.

"Hillel's dynamic programs reinforce Jewish values, and create an atmosphere for students to define and establish their Jewish identities as they prepare to become tomorrow's leaders.

"Jeanette and I hope our gift inspires those committed to Jewish continuity to join us and complete Tufts Hillel's Program Endowment Campaign, which will sustain this important organization far into the future and create a model for vibrant Jewish programming on campuses across the country."

The Program Endowment Campaign, chaired by Dan Kraft, A87, university trustee and Hillel board member, promises to be a success thanks to the help of friends like you. Please help Hillel close the campaign by December 31, 2007. Make your gift now, and the Neubauer grant will double its value! To give online, enter Hillel in Gift Designation 3.
