David, from Livingston, N.J., is a recipient of a Stern Family Scholarship, established through the generosity of James Stern, E72, chairman of Tufts' Board of Trustees, and his wife, Jane. David plans to double-major in quantitative economics and community health, with a view to pursuing a master's in public health and a career in health care administration. An Eagle Scout at 14, he was active in rowing as a freshman at Tufts.
What he enjoys about Tufts
"My most engaging experience has come from meeting all kinds of people with different ideas," he says. "I've been exposed to new things, to new topics in class I'd never thought of before. It's been eye-opening."
Why he's grateful
"I truly appreciate this scholarship, which will help ease my parents' financial burden in sending me here, and will reduce my student debt upon graduation. It's a privilege to be able to go to this caliber of school and I feel grateful for the opportunities that I have here."
