Scholarships
In recent years alumni and friends have stepped up to strengthen Tufts’ scholarship resources for talented undergraduates. Their gifts reflect a belief that a diverse student body will enrich the educational environment for all students on campus.
The Pritzker Challenge
The $5 million Pritzker Challenge was established in 2002 by Dan, A81, and Karen, J83, Pritzker. To date, the Pritzker Challenge has generated $2.5 million in gifts and pledges for scholarships benefiting underprivileged students who wouldn’t otherwise have access to a Tufts education. Under the rules of the challenge, every gift designated for financial aid to increase the diversity of Tufts' student body will be matched up to $5 million.
The Pritzker Challenge offers an unprecedented opportunity for donors to financial aid to immediately double the impact of their gift. Please make a note on your check, pledge card, or online giving form that you would like your Tufts Fund gift to be directed to the Pritzker Challenge.
Term Scholars
Last year, Tufts created another opportunity to boost scholarship dollars. With a gift of $25,000 or more, you can provide tuition assistance to a student for one academic year through a term scholarship. You will be given information on your named scholar, who is encouraged to correspond with you. These one-year scholarships may be named for you or another individual. They may be renewed on an annual basis.
