The Parents Giving Program and Tufts Career Services work closely to bring parents important information about helping students find a job.

Helping Students in a Tough Economy

These are challenging times for anyone looking to find a job, especially a college senior looking to break into the work world. Career Services invites your organization to help Tufts students by posting a job or internship to our online database, Tufts Career Connect. This only takes a few minutes and is free of charge.

If your organization would like to conduct interviews on campus, or if you are having trouble accessing the database, please contact us at csrecruiting@ase.tufts.edu.

Careers and Manners: What's the Connection?

Whether interviewing for a job or joining new colleagues for a meal, your child may be dining with an audience. Aware of the many nuances involved in your child's professional development, Career Services has launched Dining with Confidence, a new initiative led by Jean Papalia, Director of Career Services. More than 100 students have participated in the program, which offers etiquette and networking tips over a four-course meal.

Students give rave reviews to the Dining with Confidence program. To learn about one senior's experience, read her blog posting "Learning to Dine With Confidence."

Our etiquette luncheon complements other services, including job search coaching, behavioral interviewing preparation, career exploration, and resume development. Please encourage your student to take advantage of our programs and resources by visiting careers.tufts.edu or making an individual appointment with a career counselor by calling 617-627-3299.  We are open all summer and can meet with your student on campus or via a phone appointment.

Join the Career Network

As part of the Tufts family, you and your Tufts student now have access to the Tufts Career Network to assist with networking and career exploration. The network provides contact information for Tufts alumni who wish to interact with other members of the Tufts family in a wide variety of career fields. The network can also be used to help identify individuals who may be able to provide input on making career changes or learning more about a particular industry or job type.

Many students use this resource when searching for jobs and internships. We would like to expand our network by inviting all parents of Tufts students to participate in this service. We hope that you and your children either take advantage of the opportunity to network with fellow Tufts contacts, or will provide your information so that other parents, as well as alumni and students, may turn to you as a resource during the course of their careers-another way to make you feel like you are part of the Tufts community.

Please visit the network to register and join.

Tufts Financial Network

The Tufts Financial Network (TFN), the newest affinity group established by Tufts, is designed to facilitate increased engagement with the university. Created in concert with an alumni-led advisory committee, the network includes finance professionals from seasoned managers to entry-level employees, and from hedge fund managers to private investment professionals.
