The vision statement for Beyond Boundaries: The Campaign for Tufts opened with these words:

"At the rim of everyday expectations stands the fence of conventional wisdom. It is amazingly effective at penning in bold hopes and enterprising ideas. But on the far side lies the open landscape of our real potential—and at Tufts, we've found the keys to the gate."
